  • What are reusable cloth napkins/pads?
    Reusable cloth napkins/pads are same as winged disposable sanitary napkins/pads, but they are made up of cloth and can be reused.
  • Why reusable cloth napkins/pads ?
    Reusable cloth napkins/pads are: Health friendly: They are healthy, soft and rash free. They do not contain chemicals, bleach, fluorescence agents or plastic layers. Cost effective compared to disposable pads, as one napkin/pad lasts up-to 2-3 years or 75-80 cycles. Environment friendly: They are environment friendly as they are reusable for years. 1 disposable pad is equal to 4 plastic bags, which stays in the environment for 700 years.
  • Are reusable cloth napkins/pads hygienic and safe to use?
    Yes, Indian culture has supported these clean and Eco-friendly cloth napkins since ages. Only wet napkins like any other cloth can cause infections. If the napkins/pads are washed and sun dried properly, one napkin/pad can be used for more than 2 years without any health hazards.
  • Are reusable cloth napkins/pads comfortable?
    Reusable cloth napkins/pads gives a rash free experience to the user. It feels soft and cooler during periods.
  • Is it stain free?
    Soaking used pads in cold water prior washing it will make it stain free.
  • How often do I change it?
    As often as you need preferably every 4-6 hrs.
  • How many do I need?
    We suggest you would need 7-8 pads per cycle, combination of days & night pads.
  • Should I use hot water?
    No, The secret is to first soak the pads in cold water for 30 minutes before washing. This ensures the pads to remain stain free. This is so, because blood contains protein, which rinses easily in cold water, while warm water clots protein, making it set in the fabric.
  • What is it made of?
    Our pads top layer is made of hosiery (t shirt) material cotton. The inside 4-6 layers of the pad is made of absorbent cotton. 2nd last layer of the pad is made with a PUL (polyurethane laminate) leakproof layer. Last layer of the pad is thin breathable, printed cotton layer.
  • On the top layer of my cloth pad I see a bleached spot sometimes?
    Relax, many females experience a discolouration mark on the pads. It is possible when your vaginal secretions of blood and discharge become more acidic in pH. In the last days of period cycle, there is more vaginal discharge along with menstrual blood. The natural vaginal flora is acidic in a healthy state but can become more acidic at times, which may change the colour of the pad, as it is natural dye, its normal.
  • How can I manage while travelling?
    If you are travelling comfortably, staying at a hotel room or youth hostel, you can manage using your cloth pads just as you do in your home.
  • How do I know the pad is completely clean?
    When wet, squeeze the water out of your pad. If the water is transparent, it means that the blood has been washed out of the inner layers of your pad. Harmful bacteria can develop when the pads stay moist. Sun dry is best option.
  • Are the pads clinically/lab tested?
    Yes, our pads are BTRA certified as cotton pads, no dyes, no chemical, gels, dioxins are used in making them. Plus all the top layers are plastic free.

  • Is the period blood safe to touch?
    Yes it is, washing the cloth pad blood is just like washing yourself after urination or after passing stools.
  • Don’t cloth sanitary napkins leak?
    No, as the leak lock layer in the pad stops leakage & stains.
  • Do cloth sanitary Napkins feel wet?
    No, the liquid gets absorbed into the inner cotton layers. Many users feel less wetness and more comfort with cotton.
  • How do I wear my cloth sanitary pad?
    Plain Fabric is worn facing your body. Patterned leakproof side faces the underwear. Buttons are fastened around underwear.
  • How does it stay in place?
    The wings fold around your underwear and are fasted with a press button. We recommend wearing well/tight fitting underwear.
  • What do I do before I start using the pad?
    Wash new pads with soap prior to use. Pull the wet pad into shape before hanging it to dry.
  • How do I wash it?
    Soak for 30 mins in cold water to remove all stains. Blood contains protein that rinses easily in cold water. Wash by hand with a mild soap. Rinse till water runs clean or put pad after soaking in a cloth bag and wash it in the washing machine. Do not use brush/ hot water/ bleach.
  • How do I dry it?
    Pull the wet pad into shape to make it straight. Dry in direct sunlight/tumble dry on low heat. Once in 3 months, soak in warm water.
  • Is the leak proof layer made of plastic?
    The international standard PUL (Polyurethane Laminate) makes our pads functional. This leak proof solution makes women confident to use the cloth pads. The PUL is currently the best option to minimise waste.
  • How do I use it all day at work/School?
    Put the used pads in any plastic bag/travel pouch. Soiled pads can be stored by folding the two ends inwards and fastening them with the buttoned flap. Carry them home to be washed at your convenience.
  • Can I inspire others to use reusable cloth pads?
    You can share your personal experience of choosing cloth pads and its comfort & feel. Please share your washing experience as people are scared to touch period blood.
  • How do menstrual cups work? Does it hurt?
    The cup uses a slight suction mechanism, and stays in place once inserted without making you feel uncomfortable or conscious. It only collects blood without drying the vagina.it do not change blood into gel or any form, nor soaks it. No, cups are made from silicon rubber, it does not hurt inside.
  • Will it get lost?
    No, sometimes its difficult to find the stem, don’t panic try again, It is impossible for your menstrual cup, to get lost inside your body. It is because the cup cannot pass through your cervix, means it has nowhere to go. Once inserted, it will only come out, when you remove it. If necessary, You can try to push the cup down from inside, as if we do during we are constipated , then the stem will be located soon.
  • Does it widens the vagina?
    Menstrual cups are pliable, means it takes the shape of your body, when inserted, also the vaginal muscles are very elastic, means they stretch to make space for the cup, & and goes back to normal when a cup is pulled out.
  • How long can I wear it?
    After you insert the menstrual cup, you can keep it up to 8 to 10 hours. The capacity of the cup is more than enough to hold any amount of heavy flow. Women generally bleed about 20-22 mL on the heaviest flow day. The cups generally have a capacity of 25 - 40 ml, but we advise to monitor your flow & may empty the cup every 4 -6 hours.
  • What are they made of?
    Menstrual cups are made of 100% medical grade silicone. This material has been often used for making urine catheters, baby nipples and other medical devices used in the health industry. It is safe to be used on humans.
  • Is it reusable?
    With proper care 1 cup may last for 8—10 years, we advise you to change it every 5 years. If you notice any tears, splits or any changes in the appearance of your cup, we recommend that you replace it.
  • Is it messy to remove the cup?
    Not at all! Even when removing the cup you should have little to no blood on your hands- remove while over the toilet or in the shower. You will get it within 2-3 cycles.
  • Will the blood back flow?
    No. the cervix is an exit only. Your flow cannot go back inside the uterus or other areas of the body
  • How do you prepare yourself for 1st use?
    Follow the step-by-step instructions in the manual, the punch down fold is the easiest to invert but you try other folds. Before you start be relax, if you worry & concerned, the muscles don’t support you, and insertion gets a bit difficult. Be patient. Don’t give up in the first try. It gets better with every attempt, normally 3rd. 4th try the ladies get used to it easily.
  • Is it safe to use?
    Yes, our cups are safe, FDA approved & passed several vaginal membrane tests.
  • Does it leak?
    No, when chosen the right size & inserted correctly the cup shouldn’t leak, if it’s not full. You may take bw panty liners for extra protection.
  • Can I pee or poop easily wearing a cup?
    As , you can, as the cup sits in the vagina & does not disturb the functions of urethra & anus.as all the holes are separate.
  • How to clean the cup in a public toilet?
    You can take a small water bottle, if tap water is not available, and clean the cup or use a disinfecting wipe & clean it. Many use toilet paper also in emergency, please check not to leave any paper on the cup., but we recommend u can empty the cup, in emergency & reinsert it , you can wash the cup later when water is available.
  • Are menstrual cups environment-friendly?
    Yes. They do not contribute to the waste that clogs the landfills, fewer trees are cut down, and economical.
  • Can I wear a cup, if I m virgin?"
    Yes. the hymen is just a piece of skin that can stretch and also heal. The hymen can be altered by regular activities and the usage of a cup is no different. you can wear a cup even if you haven’t yet had penetrative sex or even tried penetrative forms of masturbation.
